Eight Months To The Morning Show

Scotty and Catryna in the Morning on Clear 99

To make a long story short(er), Snapchat helped get me my job. I was caught taking selfies by a current co-worker, Aric, and my current boss, J Mac got me in contact with a guy in Nashville who owns his own marketing and promotion company. I called JR and informed him I was looking for a job. JR then told me to ask J Mac for a job. Though I didn't know J Mac, I asked anyway. He brought me in and to my surprise, offered me a job. I started by writing blogs for the station's website, and then he told me he wanted to get me in the studio voice-tracking. I didn't know what that meant, but soon learned he wanted to put me on air. This didn't sit well with me since I was a little shy and had never thought about being on air. The job didn't  seem like something I could do, but I knew I had to try. After all, I did just ask for a job.. After practice with the voice-tracking, I realized I wasn't too terrible. J Mac must not have thought so either because he got me on air from 7p-12a in just two months.

Fast forward eight months and I'm a co-hosting a live morning show from 5a-10a.

Going from having a voice-tracked overnight show once a week to having a prime spot on a CMA/ACM award winning station was nerve-wracking, but I knew it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.

Today I am co-hosting the morning show: Scotty and Catryna in the Morning on Clear 99.
